Artist Statement
My artwork encapsulates the sensations we feel and the thoughts we have that aren’t so easily captured in words through storytelling and pictures. I do this to connect to those who don’t always have the vocabulary to express their innermost emotions; I want to grasp our most intimate desires and make them known. To provide a sense of escapism through the experience of stories, and make you feel something - anything.
Through my art I intend to question the beliefs of my audience, to implore reexamination of pre-conceived bias, and provide alternate perspectives. The world and the people in it aren’t black and white, but rather a jumbled mess of gray that deserves to be understood. Things aren’t always as they seem, but thinking this way requires patience and open-mindedness I want to convey wholeheartedly.
